1. What Fala does
Fala offers a written conversation with a language teacher simulated by artificial intelligence. The app corrects your messages, translates on demand, offers role play situations and review quizzes.
The teacher is not a person. Its replies are produced by an automated model. They can contain mistakes, including in corrections. Fala is a learning aid, not a certification, and replaces neither a teacher nor a professional translator.
2. Acceptable use
- Personal use, to learn a language.
- No illegal or hateful content, and no sensitive data about other people in your messages.
- No attempt to bypass the daily limits, and no automated requests.
In case of clear abuse, access to the service may be suspended.
3. Usage limits
The number of messages per day is limited. The limit in force is shown in the app, and the counter starts again every day. Translations and dictation transcriptions are not counted.
4. Subscription
The subscription raises the daily limit to the number of messages announced in the app, and unlocks the features the app marks as included in it, today the teacher you define yourself and the role play situations you write. It is not unlimited. It is sold and billed by Google Play, at the price Play displays at the time of purchase, and can be cancelled at any time from your Google Play account. It renews automatically until cancelled. Refunds follow Google Play's rules.
5. Your content
Your messages are yours. You only grant us the right to pass them to the model in order to produce the reply, and to keep them if you turned on "Help improve the teacher". See the Privacy page.
6. Availability
The service depends on a network and on a third party model provider. Interruptions are possible. We guarantee neither permanent availability nor any learning outcome.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the app, in particular from a decision taken on the strength of an automatic translation or correction.
8. Ending use and deletion
You may stop using Fala at any time, and delete your data from Profile → Delete my account. Uninstalling the app erases what is on the phone, but not what the server would hold: delete first.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of France. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any action.
