No. The teacher is simulated by artificial intelligence. The first name and the face make the exchange feel natural, but no human reads your messages. Its corrections can contain mistakes.

Press and hold the teacher's message, then choose Report this message. Tell us what is wrong in a line if you can. The report reaches us with the message and the reason, nothing else, and it costs you none of your daily messages. You can also write to [email protected].

The limit in force is shown in the app, and the counter starts again each day. The app warns when only a few messages remain, and says clearly when the limit is reached. Translations, dictation transcriptions and the teacher's opening message are not counted.

Write in the language you are learning, mistakes included. The teacher replies normally and shows the correction in a card below: what you said, the correct form, and "See my corrected sentence" for the whole sentence rewritten. "Why?" asks for the explanation.

The teacher plays a part, a bank clerk or a hairdresser for instance, and does not correct during the scene so as not to break it. At the end it steps back and reviews the mistakes. You can describe any situation you like from the home screen.

The bookmark keeps a sentence. They are read again in "My notes", where you can write why you kept them. Those sentences then come first in quizzes and in reviews.

The flag to the left of the input field shows which language is being heard. Tapping it switches between the language you are learning and your own. Dictation uses Android's own speech recognition: Fala does not ask for microphone access.

Add the language keyboard in Android settings; the app offers a shortcut when it is missing. If you do not want to learn the script, choose "Latin letters" in the profile: the teacher will then write in transcription only.

Profile → Notifications: none, one, two or three a day, starting from an hour you choose. Later slots can be small exercises drawn from what you have already seen. A conversation can also be muted.
